Join Us Monthly for Women's Support Group!
May is Mental Health Awareness Month. TUF Project, Inc. hosts monthly empowerment gatherings for women of color called 'TUF Words: Girl Codes for Womanhood'. We connect women together who are seeking answers and support for real-life issues with support. This month's intimate conversation is about Mental Health and stigma. We as women have to realize the difference between "tripping" and actually needing to seek mental health services. We will also to talk about how stigma keeps us from really getting the help we may need. Sign up and bring a Friend!
You'll hear the inspirational stories of women experiencing and overcoming challenges while learning how to grow together. Be encouraged by the stories and be inspired to tell your own. You'll receive heartfelt encouragement, compassion and caring support from women who are just like you!
Here's a space where you can be YOU! That's right your authentic self. There is no pressure, no red carpet, and no need to be "camera ready." We are always mindful of our sisters that come to share. We protect the space and respect confidentiality.
*The Urbane Flower (TUF) Project does not provide clinical mental health services. TUF Words is moderated by an experienced and qualified professional. If you've previously attended and have seen the benefit, we ask that you share this event to help us connect with other women.
I honestly feel like this session took a load off of me. The ladies made it feel very comfortable to share things about myself that I don't normally share with anyone. I also realized that there is a lot of strong women that have their own story which was similar to my own in some way. I am extremely pleased that I went out and engaged with this group. I look forward to future sessions."
When I think about the challenges I've overcome, and how I've done so with the help of open and honest conversation, I felt compelled to create an opportunity for other women to do the same. At TUF Words, we share our stories through guided discussions. We're free to laugh, cry and talk it out- which is something every woman can relate to!"
